Our Team


George J. Wafer, a graduate of Columbia University and an Eagle Scout, has more than 30 years’ experience in the automotive industry. Among his many accomplishments at VMS are the development of the first lock-out radio to solve theft problems, development of the first outsourced OEM radio sold through distributors to auto dealers, and integration of the industry’s first paperless program for an OEM.


Prior to forming VMS, Mr. Wafer was a divisional president of Clarion Corporation. While at Clarion, Mr. Wafer increased aftermarket sales from zero to $100 million and orchestrated their first OEM sales, eventually leading to OEM sales in excess of $300 million. Mr. Wafer was also Vice President of Audiovox Corporation, where he was responsible for increasing sales from 50 million to 100 million in seven years. Under his guidance, Audiovox achieved a 50 percent market share in the automotive aftermarket industry.


Mr. Wafer is actively involved in numerous charities serving as a director of the Clark Gillies Foundation helping children and was the 1997 recipient of the Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award. During Mr. Wafer’s career he has sold products, provided consulting services, and developed programs for car manufacturers and all major distributors to new car dealers in the United States and Canada.


Angelo Addesso joined VMS in 1986 with more than 16 years executive management experience with a Fortune 600 corporation. He has used his management experience to bring a high level of professionalism to the aftermarket and OE automotive business.


While at VMS, Mr. Addesso has introduced mechanical breakdown insurance programs to five OE manufacturers, developed AutoPrompt Plus with mechanical tracking capabilities for OE and aftermarket accounts, introduced Roadside Assistance Programs to OE customers, and developed off-lease programs for numerous accounts.


Prior to joining VMS, Mr. Addesso served as director of non-selling services at Bloomingdale’s where he managed the company’s largest off-site processing facilities and increased catalog operations 500 percent in one year.


Bill Hoover’s 34-year automotive career spans a diverse range of responsibilities and geography. In 1970, he became National Training Manager for Volvo Cars in the U.S. Over the next 10 years, Mr. Hoover moved through various positions in Organizational Development, Sales, and Operations before being elected the youngest Vice President in the history of the company.


As Vice President of Marketing, Mr. Hoover shaped the Brand, Product, and Network strategies that moved Volvo to the position of the largest selling European import by the end of the 80′s. During that period, Volvo led a string of industry firsts in financing, fleet, daily rental, and 24-hour roadside assistance. In the early 90′s as Executive Vice President and COO, Mr. Hoover guided the organization to new levels of customer and dealer satisfaction with innovative margin and incentive programs, as well as, dealer involvement in all aspects of the retail process via Performance Enhancement Teams.


Prior to retiring from Volvo in 2001, Mr. Hoover accepted an assignment as Executive Vice President of Volvo Car Asia Pacific and undertook the task of reorganizing Volvo’s business structure and relationships in the 11 diverse markets of North and Southeast Asia. Through his career, Mr. Hoover has served on the board of Volvo Cars North America, Volvo Finance North America, Volvo Car Australia, Volvo Car Korea, Volvo Thailand and Volvo Car Asia Pacific.
